Delivery timing, freight coordination and return expectations
Marine Generators Direct works to ship in-stock orders quickly and to keep customers informed when transfer, freight or manufacturer backorder timing affects an order.
Large marine generators and oversized products may require truck freight, commercial delivery access or lift-gate coordination.
Eligible returns must be requested within 30 days and require a Return Merchandise Authorization before shipping items back.
Order fulfillment
All in-stock orders will normally ship within 1 to 2 business days. At times, an item may be temporarily out of stock at our distribution center, which can delay fulfillment.
If an item must be transferred from an alternate warehouse to our distribution center, normal transfer time is usually 2 to 5 business days. If the item is not available from an alternate warehouse, it may be considered backordered.
Manufacturer backorders may create longer delays and timing can vary widely. We will keep you informed by email if any product becomes backordered or unavailable from the manufacturer.
- Multiple item ordersIf your order contains multiple items and one or more items are out of stock, we may hold the order until it is complete. Split shipments may be available upon request and may require additional shipping charges.
- TrackingOnce an order is complete and shipped, tracking information will be sent to the email address on file. Please allow up to 24 hours after shipment confirmation for tracking to update.
- Transit estimatesShipping and transit times shown on the website, by carriers, or by third parties are estimates only. Holidays, weather, carrier delays and product availability can affect delivery.
Receiving truck freight shipments
Items too heavy or too large for standard ground shipment will ship by truck freight. A phone number is required so the carrier can schedule the delivery.
Delivery to a business or commercial address with access to a dock or fork-lift is required for FLORIDA Free Freight. Residential, lift-gate and curbside delivery will require additional charges.
Rates, oversized items and expedited shipping
Shipping and handling fees are based on package size, weight, destination and selected service. Standard ground shipment, expedited shipment and freight options may be available depending on the product.
Additional shipping charges may apply for oversized, overweight or freight-required products. If additional charges apply, we will contact you before shipping the order.
- Expedited shippingExpedited shipping reduces carrier transit time after the order leaves the warehouse. It does not change stock status, transfer time or order processing time.
- Physical addressesSome freight or equipment shipments require a physical delivery address and cannot ship to a PO Box.
- International shippingInternational availability varies by product, destination and carrier. Some equipment may not be eligible for international shipping.
Shortages, discrepancies and damage
Shortages, discrepancies and damages must be reported within 7 days of receipt. Please inspect your shipment carefully when it arrives.
- Mislabeled or incorrect itemA picture of the item received may be required so we can review the issue with the manufacturer or supplier. If the item must be returned, we will provide return instructions.
- Damaged package or productPlease keep all packaging material. Pictures may be required for claim purposes. As an accommodation, Marine Generators Direct may assist with filing the damage claim with the carrier.
- Freight damageInspect freight before signing the delivery receipt. Note visible damage with the carrier whenever possible and contact us promptly.
Return Merchandise Authorization required
We will accept eligible returns of products that are defective due to defects in manufacturing or workmanship within 30 days from the date of purchase for refund or replacement review.
To return an item, contact our customer support team at 305-633-0732 or through the contact page to request a Return Merchandise Authorization. Returned items must be new, unused, uninstalled, complete and in resaleable condition unless the return is due to an approved defect, damage or shipment error.
- RMA requiredThe Return Merchandise Authorization number must be clearly displayed on the outside of the package and a copy of the invoice should be included inside.
- Non-defective returnsReturns not due to defect, damage or shipper error may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. Original shipping charges are not refundable.
- Restricted returnsNo returns are accepted on electrical parts or parts that have been exposed to fuel.
- Processing timePlease allow 7 to 10 business days after we receive the return for review and processing.
Refund method
Refund credits are generally returned to the original payment method. If the original payment method can no longer be credited, additional steps may be required and refund timing may be delayed.
